BORON as a safe and effective pesticide
Boric acid is a crystalline material derived from boron, which is mined from the soil. Boric acid based products have a low toxicity to humans; it has been used for over 80 years as eyewash and is found in many contact lens solutions. It can be harmful if actually eaten in high doses, so care must be taken. Boron-based products are the most effective, least-toxic pesticides available for domestic use. Boric acid acts as a stomach poison when ingested by insects.

Dead End Cockroach Mats
Comparison tests in Australia in November 1993, December 1999 and December 2004 ranked this product as the most effective and with outstanding results, in the baits and mats category. Shown to be as effective as the highly toxic bombs and surface sprays. Made of recycled cardboard impregnated with a synthetic pyrethrum (0.1g Cypermethrin per mat) immediate results are evident with effectiveness lasting up to 3 months. Tests conducted by Prof. C.J. Orton and P.M.J. O'Rourke at CERIT (Centre for Entomological Research and Insecticide Technology) at the University of New South Wales found the mats still having a 100% kill rate on American cockroaches after twelve months. Gepro Cockroach Traps
These traps are chemical and pesticide free and use a powerful natural attractant bait to lure cockroaches of all species onto the sticky glue surface. Each pack contains 3 simple to use traps which are effective for 12 weeks or until traps are full. Because you won't see most cockroaches living in and around your home the traps will allow you to both control small infestations and to monitor where they are most active. To use, open out trap, peel off paper to expose glue and place bait tablet on the centre of the trap, re-fold trap and tuck tab in slot. Place traps under or behind the fridge, under sink and stove and behind the rubbish bin. Please note that if you are lucky enough to have small skinks, geckos or other cockroach predators in your house, they too will get stuck to this trap. In this case it is better to look at one of our non- sticky options or as we do, keep the sticky traps out of the tiled areas of the house and use one of the other products where these very efficient hungry little reptiles are active.
