European wasps are now widespread in Tasmania and parts of SA, VIC, ACT and south-eastern NSW. Wasps are 12-15 mm long, bright yellow (not orange) with black markings. Nest removal should be left to an expert. |
European Wasp Catcher
![]() Enjoy outdoor activities without the nuisance and danger of the introduced European Wasp. This re-usable, UV treated non-toxic plastic trap is baited with your own mix of sugar and meat. With the funnelled-lid design this trap is very effective and once caught they cannot easily escape, when dead they will attract more wasps to the trap. The European Wasp is territorial, usually foraging for food in close proximity to its nest. They do not fly high, preferring to scavenge close to the ground. Large numbers generally indicate a nest is nearby, often in retaining walls, disused rubbish, woodpiles, compost or in old wood. 2 traps per pack. PW108 |
