Slasher Weedkiller
Slasher Weedkiller is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Action: This is a non-selective, contact weed spray that rapidly desiccates plant foliage by removing the waxy cuticle of green vegetation. Browning and wilting are typically visible within hours. More established weeds might only be suppressed and need repeated applications. It has no residual or systemic activity, meaning it won't move through the soil to harm nearby plants. Be aware that spray drift will affect any green leaves it contacts.
Unique Quality: The active ingredient, Pelargonic acid, is cleared by the USA FDA as a synthetic food flavoring, production aid, and sanitizer for use with food and in washing fruits and vegetables. Slasher weedkiller is the first Pelargonic acid-based 'burn-down' herbicide, making it a safer alternative where other herbicides pose risks to public health and the environment, especially concerning soil, animal, and crop health.
Application: Available in 1, 5, 20, and 200 L concentrates (no ready-to-use size). Mix 70 ml of concentrate per 1 liter of water (a 1-liter bottle makes 14 liters of spray). Apply in warm, sunny weather with no rain or irrigation expected for 2 hours. Optimal spray volume depends on weed maturity and density; ensure all foliage is completely covered for effective control. Treated areas can be sown or transplanted into once desired weed control is achieved, but follow-up applications 7-10 days later may be needed for perennials and larger annual weeds.
Plants Controlled: Effective on young broadleaf weeds and grasses under 15 cm tall, as well as algae, lichen, liverwort, and moss. It can also suppress and control grasses, vines, underbrush, annual and perennial plants (including moss), saplings, and tree suckers.
Active Ingredients: Contains 525 g/L Nonanoic acid (Pelargonic acid), which is naturally found in various plants and is used in the food processing industry for peeling fruits and vegetables. It also includes orange oil. (PW123)
