BIOGARLICBFA
organic
Pick up any garden
book or magazine and you will find a recipe to make a garlic
spray! BioGarlic is made from pure garlic juice. When applied, the
strong garlic odour dissipates within a few minutes of application
but remains offensive to insect pests. It can be applied to all
plants by saturating the foliage, it is safe to use, handle and
store and is non-toxic to humans and
animals. The main advantage of using BioGarlic is that instead of
harmful chemicals that may be hazardous to humans, animals
and
beneficial insects you are using a super concentrated food grade
product. Mix 10 ml to 1 litre of water so that you get 25L of
spray for every 250ml concentrate.

NATRASOAP
Natrasoap is a soap spray made
from potassium derived from vegetable oils. It is more effective
than homemade soap sprays, leaves a zero residue, is totally
biodegradable and will control most soft-shelled insects on
contact including aphids, two-spotted mites, whiteflies, fungus
gnats, thripsand mealy bugs. It works by blocking the
insect’s breathing pores and dissolving its outer covering,
resulting in dehydration. There is no withholding period
and it is non-toxic to mammals, birds and bees. Using ordinary
soap as a spray should be avoided, as it will build undesirable
levels of sodium in the soil and risks burning the leaves. Do not
apply Natrasoap when temperatures are above 30°C. Suggested
application rate is 10-20 ml per litre of water.
Spraytech Oil
is a class of products applied in large scale farming applications
(tractor mounted spray rigs) and used to help stick a spray to a
plant's leaf surface.
Combining the benefits of emulsifiable vegetable oil and non-ionic
surfactants, it improves the performance of most pesticides,
herbicides, insecticides or fungicides, by enveloping each chemical
molecule, protecting it from breakdown in the spray vat and out in
the field after application. This encapsulation will increase spray
efficacy whilst reducing loss and odour. All Natrasoap labels recommend the use of
Spraytech oil. Green Harvest does not stock this product as we feel
for home garden applications, small frequent and targeted use of
Natrasoap is more suitable and less expensive. This is in line with
instructions provided with the smaller size soap spray sold as
Nature’s Way Mite & Insect Killer.
ECO-OILBFA
organic
eco-oil is a registered miticide/Insecticide
It is a botanical oil that contains canola oil,
eucalyptus oil, melaleuca oil and several surfactants.
Surfactants help the oil stick to the leaf. It controls pests by
contact, so complete coverage of plants is important. For best
results spray at the first sign of infestation. Repeat application
may be necessary. Eco-Oil controls citrus leafminer, scale,
two-spotted mite, aphids, whitefly and various sap-sucking
insects. Oil sprays should not be used at temperatures above 35°C.
Do not apply to plants suffering heat or
moisture stress. Application rate is 5-10mL per litre of water.
Material Safety Data Sheet
How does it work?
When eco-oil is applied directly onto an insect,
including aphids, mites and whiteflies it blocks the breathing
holes and prevents the carbon dioxide from being expelled from
the body. This effectively smothers the insect.
When eco-oil is applied to citrus leaves it prevent
the nocturnal citrus leafminer moth from landing and laying her
eggs into the leaves. Both the smell and the oil layer left by
the spray deters the moth.
Benefits of using eco-oil
eco-oil has no significant impact on
beneficial insect numbers
under sunlight eco-oil dissipates faster than
petroleum-based oils, resulting in less risk of
phototoxicity
there is no withholding period when sprayed
on edible crops
there is no chemical residue left on plants
no protective clothing needs to be worn
it smells better than
petroleum-based oils
it is manufactured in Australia using
Australian grown canola oil, which helps support Australian
farmers

PEST OIL
Pest Oil Insect Control Spray is based on petroleum oil, it works
by smothering insects.
It can be used on all stages of scale
insects but has the greatest impact at the 'crawler' stage. The
'crawlers' emerge at a different time depending on the type of
scale but most emerge in the December to February period.
Correct scale identification and timing of the spray will
improve the impact of any oil spray. Oils generally have a low impact on beneficial insects. A
big advantage of this new generation Pest Oil is the low
application rate at 5ml to a litre, so the product goes a long
way. Advances in oil technology mean that this oil can be used all
year round without damage to plants, up to a temperature of 35°C.
Pest Oil will control: red, white wax, pink wax, black,
soft brown, grapevine, San Jose and oyster shell scale; two-spotted spider mite,
aphids, white fly and mealy bugs. Pest Oil is the first
registered non-toxic control for citrus leafminer; it works
by forming a protective film on immature leaves, which the adult
leafminer moths avoid. A Landline program on the ABC reported a
trial mixing 1% oil with Bt to give excellent results against
Heliothis. Material Safety Data Sheet

NATURE'S WAY VEGETABLE DUST DERRIS
Also known
as Rotenone, it is a potent plant-derived insecticide, which
should be handled very carefully. It has a low toxicity to
beneficial insects including bees but is toxic to fish and
frogs. Derris has a somewhat higher toxicity to insects than
pyrethrum and is effective for a week or slightly longer. It is
particularly useful for Budworms attacking corn and tomatoes as
it can be dusted onto the developing fruit. It can be used on
leafy vegetables, flowers and vines
to control aphids, caterpillars and thrips.
It
comes as an easy to use shaker bottle, no mixing or spraying is
required.

YATES TOMATO DUST
This product saves time as it controls insects and fungus in the
one product. Insects controlled include Heliothis caterpillar
(tomato grub), potato moth (tomato leaf miner), tomato
mite and other mites. Fungal disease controlled include
early blight (target spot), late blight and
septoria leaf spot on tomatoes. It comes as an easy to use
shaker bottle, no mixing or spraying is required.
Active Ingredients:
400g/kg Sulfur (S) present as
elemental sulfur
40g/kg Copper (C) present as
copper oxychloride
0.5g/kg Spinosad
Sulfur and Copper Oxychloride act as protectant fungicides.
Sulfur is also a miticide. Spinosad, an insecticide derived from
natural soil bacteria, controls tomato grubs and potato moth
(tomato leaf miner).
