Bean Climbing 'Ruby Moon'
Bean Climbing 'Ruby Moon' is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
An ornamental climbing vine with edible pods for warmer areas. The purple sweet-pea like flowers fade to lilac and are followed by bright purple pods. The dark green leaves have purple veins and stems. It is a short-lived perennial for 2 - 3 years. Hardy and good at coping with wet, humid conditions. It is grown for its young, flat, tender pods which turn green when cooked and are commonly used in curries. The mature pods and dried beans contain toxins so should be well-cooked with a change of cooking water or not eaten at all. Germination is improved by soaking the seed.
