The tender leaves are rich in vitamins A, B, C, E; minerals such as potassium, calcium, iodine, magnesium, sulphur; enzymes and chlorophyll. It is believed to stimulate the immune system and have a tonic effect.

This sprout has a distinctive broccoli taste which is quite hot and strong; it is also highly nutritious. It is believed to stimulate the immune system and have a tonic effect.
Container: Use a jar or dome sprouter, or tray
Soak time: Wash seed, then soak for 4 - 8 hours
Sow When: Try to avoid very hot or cold weather; temperatures between 16 - 25°C work best
Quantity: 1 heaped tsp to a 650ml jar sprouter
Rinses per day: 2 - 3 times; avoid the seeds clumping together; if you can't be at home on hot days, refrigerate the sprouts until you get back
Harvest: 3 - 6 days
Yield: 1 - 1½ cups
Storage: Store well-drained sprouts in the fridge, use a container that breathes; avoid plastic bags; rinse every few days
