Red Acre' is an early, ball head variety 25 - 35 cm in diameter, weight 900 g - 1.8 kg. The heads are dense, deep purple with a sweet flavour. Eaten raw or cooked, it is an excellent source of Vitamin C. Try to use most of the outer leaves as the darkest leaves contain the most nutrients. It is easy to grow and does well on most soils. Resistant to splitting and holds well. Days to harvest: 76.
