Violaceo di Verona' is a savoy vintage variety from northern Italy with 4 kg broad compact heads. The outer leaves are dark green, the inner leaves are tinged with a deep plum-pink. The colour develops better with cold weather. Flavour is excellent, mild and sweet. It is very cold tolerant and holds well in the garden. Savoy cabbages are considered the best-flavoured cabbage and make excellent coleslaw. Days to harvest: 80 - 90.
