Capsicum 'Peperoni Lombardo'
Capsicum 'Peperoni Lombardo' is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Peperoni Lombardo' is often listed as a chilli but it is so mild it is best described as a capsicum. This Italian heirloom is traditionally used in its green stage for pickling or preserving in oil. The fruit is 15 cm long and skinny, 2 to 3 cm wide, tapering to a point. It changes colour from a pale green to a bright shiny red. It has a sweet, mild taste and can be used in salads or stirfries. The bushes grow to 80 cm tall and are highly productive. Rumours abound that an occasional spicy hot fruit will develop but so far we haven't come across this. Days to harvest: 90.
