Cosmic Purple' is an open-pollinated carrot developed in 2005. It has a lovely spicy-sweet flavour and is a nutritional powerhouse. Purple carrots commonly have double the levels of beta-carotene of orange carrots and contains 28 times more anthocyanins. The tapering roots are smooth and straight and about 15 to 20 cm long. The bright purple skin contrasts beautifully with the yellow-orange flesh. It is very decorative in salads and can be steamed. Days to harvest: 65 - 70.
