'Padron' is an heirloom chilli from Spain, commonly eaten green as a tapa fried in olive oil. The fruit is best eaten 3cm long but will mature to about 5cm long, with a green skin maturing to red, it will also get spicier as it ripens. Most of the fruit is very mild, only 500 units on the Scoville heat scale but about 1 in 10 are spicy hot, about 2500 units on the Scoville heat scale. This where it gets its name 'Russian Roulette'.
