'Hopi Blue' was a staple of the Hopi people who grew it for thousands of years. It is a hardy variety producing well in dry conditions. Eat it as a sweet corn when young, or if dried and ground for flour it is used to make tortillas. It can produce 2 large cobs per plant when grown well. The silvery blue ears are 18-20cm long; the kernels are ivory coloured until dried, when they turn a blue-black colour.
