'Beit Alpha' is a Lebanese style, thin-skinned, dark green, tender, burpless cucumber, 30 cm long. It has an excellent flavour whether pickled or fresh and is never bitter. Vines bear early, are disease resistant and very productive. Growing on a trellis will reduce fungal problems, as will keeping the leaves dry.
