Dill is a hardy annual with blue-green feathery leaves. The umbrella-like yellow flowers are highly attractive to a wide range of beneficial insects. The leaves can be used as a herb, added to salads, eggs, cream cheese and fish. Dill seeds are used as a pickling spice. Dill flowers are traditionally used to flavour pickled cucumbers.
