Fenugreek is a legume adapted to winter rainfall areas. It is a cool season plant, tolerant of frost and a wide range of soils. The seed is used as a spice, the plant as a high protein forage crop or as a green manure. It has deep roots, and is excellent for loosening heavy clay soils.
