White Vienna' kohlrabi is an heirloom vegetable introduced before 1860. The flavour is mild, sweet and turnip-like. The round, above-ground "bulbs" have a light green, smooth skin and creamy white, tender flesh. It is a very hardy vegetable that is easy-to-grow. It is nutritious, being a good source of vitamin C and potassium. Use steamed or grated raw in salads.
