Giant Carentan' is an old French leek variety with a mild flavour and tender, very large, creamy white stalks with blue-green leaves. Leeks are delicious vegetables, the white shaft plus 10-15 cm of the green leaves are eaten. Leeks are hardy and pest resistant but require a long growing season.
