Millet 'French White' is a fast growing, annual clumping grass with an edible seed. It tolerates soils of low fertility and is useful as a green manure to add bulk organic matter and to build soil structure. It combines well with mung bean or cowpea which add nitrogen. It is commercially grown for birdseed and as a grain suitable for gluten-free diets.
