Syn. Kyona, Japanese mustard. A traditional Japanese salad green that forms a large rosette of slender white stalks and attractive, feathery dark-green leaves. The flavour is mildly spicy and crisp. Mizuna microgreens are easy-to-grow and can also be grown as sprouts.

Container: Seedling tray (29 x 34cm) or microgreen tray (29 x 14cm)
Soak time: Wash seed, then soak for 8 hours
Sow When: Best at 10 - 28 °C; avoid hot weather
Quantity: 2.5g (1 tsp) to a seedling tray; 1.25g (½ tsp) to a microgreen tray
Method: Spread organic potting mix 2 cm deep in a tray, moisten well; spread the seed evenly across the top of the mix; gently pat seeds down; cover with damp paper towel to keep the seeds moist just until roots reach the soil; place the tray indoors on a well-lit bench or outdoors on a covered deck
Days to Harvest: 21 days; harvest once the 2nd set of leaves appear; cut just above the soil mix with scissors
