Container: Use a jar sprouter or dome sprouter
Soak time: Wash seed, then soak for 8 - 12 hours, make sure the seed sinks
Sow When: Try to avoid hot weather; sprouts best between 10°C and 21°C
Quantity: 2 tbsp to a 650ml jar sprouter
Rinses per day: 2 - 3 times a day for 10 - 15 days; very slow to germinate so keep rinsing Expose them to light after day 7 to green them up, but keep out of direct sunlight
Harvest: 10 - 15 days; rinse and use a salad spinner to separate the seeds from the sprouts; onion sprouts have a strong smell so do not try to sprout them in a very enclosed space
Yield: 1 cup
Storage: Store well-drained sprouts in the fridge, use a container that breathes; avoid plastic bags; rinse every few days
