'Magenta has vivid, deep purple-burgundy leaves and stems with a mildly spicy taste. It is an improved dark purple variety with a low % of green plants. It is highly nutritious, rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Very attractive as a garnish or in salads. To grow as a microgreen, spread potting mix 3 cm deep; moisten the mix. Spread the pre-sprouted seeds evenly on top of the mix and gently pat down.

Container: Use a jar sprouter or dome sprouter
Soak time: Wash seed, then soak for 6 - 12 hours
Sow When: Try to avoid very hot or cold weather; temps between 16°C – 28°C work best
Quantity: 1 heaped tsp to a 650ml jar sprouter
Rinses per day: 2 - 3 times; avoid the seeds clumping together; wash the hulls off during the final rinse; if you can't be at home on hot days, refrigerate the sprouts until you get back
Harvest: 1 - 1½ cups
Storage: Store sprouts in the fridge, use a container that breathes; avoid plastic bags; rinse every few days
