Leaves are wide and glossy green, the white, star-like flowers appear in spring. The whole plant is edible with a strong garlic scent. It is good in sandwiches, salads, added to sauces and dressings and to make pesto. The bulb can also be eaten raw or cooked. Plants go dormant in summer.
