A bush-type snowpea that is disease resistant and heavy cropping. Pods are 11 cm long, crisp, tender, full of flavour and great in stirfries. Avoid sowing before periods of high humidity to reduce fungal problems.

Plant type: Annual bush pea to 70 cm; support will improve yields

Sow when: Germinate best at 13 - 21°C soil temp. Grow best between 13°-18°C

Cool: April - mid October; frost damages the flowers

Temperate: February - September

Subtropical: March - July

Tropical: Unlikely to produce well

Germination: 7 - 14 days

Depth: 1.5 - 2.5 cm deep; soak seed overnight before sowing

Position: Full sun; sheltered from wind

Sow where: Direct into garden bed

Soil type: Fertile, well drained, 6 - 7 pH; lime if necessary several weeks before sowing; prepare soil with compost; lightly mulch rows to prevent crusting.

Rows: 45 - 60 cm apart
