Statice 'Seeker Blue' is an improved annual form of this cottage garden favourite. The deep blue, tightly packed flower clusters are up to 7 cm across and produced on strong, slender stems. It is recommended for growers of cut flowers and is excellent as a dried flower. It prefers a well-drained loamy soil in a sunny position and is drought and salt tolerant. Seeds germinate best at 21°C; sow early spring in temperate areas; late spring in very cool areas; March to April in subtropical areas. It may self-sow if not dead-headed regularly to encourage blooming. Days to bloom: 110 - 120 days.
